RUDY is the son of lead author Dawn Charleston-Green. He is co-author and the inspiration behind
Rudy the Smart Kid.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, Rudy grew up as a military brat living in Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. He graduated in the top 15% and as Class President of his class from Grovetown High School in 2016.
Apart from his academics, Rudy was also a stellar athlete, playing both basketball and participating in Track & Field. He was top-ranked in the State of Georgia in both the long and triple jump.
Rudy attended The Grambling State University and was a member of the Men’s Track & Field Team; having been a part of the 2017 SWAC Championship Men’s Outdoor Team. While in college, Rudy continued to excel in academics and leadership and was inducted into GSU’s Earl Lester Cole Honors College and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Rudy received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 2020.
Rudy is now a two-time author and resides in
Houston, Texas.

Dawn Charleston-Green and Rudolph Valentine, III, co-authors of Rudy the Smart Kid, are mother and son and share a likeness for fun and creativity; especially through words. – whether written, sung, or used to bring laughter or encouragement.
Dawn is also the founder and CEO of Dawn of a New Day 365, LLC. She uses her life experiences and her Christian faith to provide content and conversations for women, children, and families. Dawn is the award-winning author of the children’s book, Heeeyy Dandelion – a 2022 Best Book Award Finalist.
Rudy is a 2020 graduate of Grambling State University, is an entrepreneur and entertainer, CEO of GOATGANG Entertainment, LLC., recording artist, and comedian. R.T.S.K… is the first of two books published in 2023.
